Valhalore is an epic folk/Viking metal band hailing from Brisbane, Australia. Created by composer, producer, and lead guitarist Anthony Willis, Valhalore draws on influences from folk, power, and melodic death metal to create a sound that is epic, majestic, and phenomenal.
Formed in mid-2013, the band immediately set to work on their first album and began to establish themselves within the Australian metal scene. In 2015 the band released their debut, self-titled EP which received positive acclaim from fans across Australia.
Valhalore released their first full-length album ‘Voyage Into Eternity’ on March 14 2017. This release assisted Valhalore to break into the international folk metal scene, where they received worldwide praise and acclaim.
‘Voyage Into Eternity’ is a monumental journey across musical realms and genres. With sweeping guitar riffs, soaring tin whistle, crushing vocals and majestic melodic passages, Valhalore has forged a vastly unique album like no other. It also boasts a uniquely diverse catalogue that integrates various themes, genres, emotions, and power into undoubtedly memorable and goosebump inducing songs.
‘Voyage Into Eternity’ is not only a milestone for Valhalore, but for the whole of Australian metal music. This release will certainly make an impact on the forefront of folk metal, consequently cementing the genre as not only an integral aspect in Australian music circles, but of the global scene.
Since their first live appearance in November 2015, Valhalore has been a crowd favourite at numerous shows, and has shared the stage with numerous well-known acts such as Be’Lakor, Insomnium, and Eluveitie. Valhalore has undertaken multiple Australian tours, including their vastly successful ‘Voyage Across Australia Tour’ in support of ‘Voyage Into Eternity’ during March/April 2017. Valhalore will also be touring internationally for the first time in January 2018, as they journey to Japan to support Ensiferum, Trollfest, and Wind Rose.
Valhalore has no plans to slow their longboat down anytime soon. With big plans and big ambitions, Valhalore is name not to be underestimated.
